Mortons House Hotel - Swanage

400 year old 16th century hotel situated in Corfe Castle. From the moment you arrive, you experience the atmosphere of a cherished Tudor manor. Relax amongst Elizabethan splendour in the Oak Room next to the magnificent log fire.

Personally run by Ted and Beverly Clayton and her sister Alison,
Mortons House was built from Purbeck stone in 1590 in the shape of an ‘E’ to honour Queen Elizabeth I.  Traditional bedrooms make good use of four posters, traditional stone fireplaces and fine views of the castle, Steam Railway and Purbeck Hills.  Recent accolades include 2 Fine Dining Rosettes (AA), Gold Award (VisitBritain) and ‘Small Hotel of the Year’ (South West Tourism).  The village of Corfe Castle is fairy-tale like, protected and perfect, close to the stunning beaches of Studland, Swanage, Lulworth and Durdle Door.  A very special place to stay !
