Bridport Church SY465926

St Mary's Church in Bridport. The church site dates back beyond the Middle Ages and there are some 13th century remains. However, most of the current church can be dated back to the 15th century.

Major renovations were carried out in 1860 by the building company that employed Thomas Hardy. Hardy did not approve of the restoration and this is mentioned in 'Fellow Townsmen'
