Within easy driving, one can spend the day exploring the county town of Dorchester, 6 miles, with its many family attractions, ranging from the Dorset County Museum, Dinosaur Museum, Tutankhamun Exhibition, Dorset Teddy Bear Museum, the Terracotta Warriors and of course its many restaurants and shops. Further afield, perhaps spend a day out enjoying Monkey World and The Tank Museum, or enjoy some walking along this famous scenic coastline around Lulworth Cove or Chesil beach, and on to Bridport, West Bay and Lyme Regis. Nearby, Weymouth with its sandy beach offers a huge range of sporting activities from boating, sailing, swimming, windsurfing and fishing. You can visit Sherborne with its two castles, the Cerne Abbas Giant engraved on the hill and many historical places, such as Athelhampton House and Gardens, Minterne Gardens, Mapperton House and Gardens and Forde Abbey and Gardens.
