For those who love water sports, guests can enjoy sailing, canoeing, fishing, swimming and boating on the doorstep, or on Portland itself. The Tout Quarry has wonderful views over Chesil Beach and at Portland Bill, visitors can climb the 153 steps of the lighthouse and absorb the coastline’s rugged beauty, followed by a cream tea at the tea room. There are many attractions on Portland and also on the mainland, including the quaint shops in Weymouth, the lovely golden sandy beach and the family attractions of Sea Life Adventure Park and Tower, Tithe Barn children’s farm and the Swannery at Abbotsbury - the list goes on. For days out, you can explore this scenic coast from Lyme Regis in the west to Corfe in the east, taking in resorts such as Charmouth, West Bay with its traditional harbour, and on to Lulworth Cove.
