View over to Hen Cliff with Clavell Tower on top in Kimmeridge. The tower measures 35 feet in height to give some perspective.
The tower is part of the Smedmore estate and was built by Reverend John Richards (who later changed his name to Clavell).
The tower was recently moved 30 metres from the eroding cliff edge by the National Trust.
The tower is also 'The Black Tower' from the PD James novel of thta name.
