Bourne Free - Gay Pride Festival

Bourne Free is Bournemouth's annual gay pride festival that celebrates all diversities that live in the town. It started in 2004 in opposition to a far right organisation that was coming to Bournemouth to oppose homosexuality. Prominent figures from the gay community came together to organise an event to protect the LGBT community and organise a day of celebration.

Since then Bourne Free has been held every year in July as an official charity event and is an annual celebration in the heart of Bournemouth. The main aim of Bourne Free is to constantly strive towards universal equality through awareness and of course entertainment.
